The Black and Blue

The genre of the western flourished in the mid-20th century, with greats like Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood making classics seemingly non-stop. Eventually, the western slowed down and science fiction rose to fame. However, in Hollywood’s scramble to make money in an industry that’s slowing down, they have begun to remake film after film. This is the case with “3:10 to Yuma,” which is a remake of a movie of the same title from 1957 and a favorite of director James Mangold.

Overall, “Resurrecting the Champ” isn’t a bad movie. Its script is original, its acting is superb and the film flows quite nicely. What brings the film down the most is its average delivery, which Lurie trades off in order for the story to become the main focus.
