'Doppelganger' Accepted Into Progeny Film Fest

‘Doppelganger’ Accepted Into Progeny Film Fest

Colin Rogers and I's short film, 'Doppelganger,' was officially selected into the Progeny Film Festival in Blacksburg. I received the e-mail yesterday to confirm it. Both Colin and I are relieved and excited about this. We had expected to get in, but there is never any guarantee. This is the festival that was our goal to submit (and hopefully win awards at) for 'Doppelganger'

Progeny is a local film festival at Virginia Tech that features most prominently Virginia Tech student films and local filmmakers in Blacksburg. This year the festival takes place at the Lyric theater in downtown Blacksburg from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Through some of my classmates who are on the board for Progeny, I’ve found out there are about 12 short films that should be screening and that Doppelganger is one of the last movies to screen. Whether that is good or bad, I don’t know, but everybody should go out and support the film! There is an audience award with a $100 cash prize attached that I wouldn’t mind having.

Unfortunately, Colin and I will not be in attendance at the festival because we’ll be out of town, but please go out and support my film and others! There are a lot of great student filmmakers who have submitted exceptional work. I’ve seen a lot of the accepted films and I’m sure they will appreciate having a large audience to screen for.

Here is the complete listing of short films to be screened on Saturday:

  • Against the Wind
  • Drawing Conclusions
  • Doppelganger
  • Echoes
  • Look What the Lord Has Done
  • On the Grind
  • Questions and Answers
  • Redemption
  • It’s What’s Inside That Matters
  • Taylor Portrait
  • The Mystery of Colony Collapse Disorder
  • The Aftermath

Happy Labor Day: The Film Industry Should Treat Crew Better
