Foldable. Portable. Pocketable.

One sheet of paper is all you need.

The pocket guides are designed to fold from a full sheet of paper into a small “book” that fits inside your jeans, your toolbag, or your pouch — all you need is a printer and paper.

Use with Your Tablet or Phone

Paper or electronic, your choice.

If you prefer digital to analog, every pocket guide comes with a mobile formatted version that divides each section into its own page for easier browsing and faster access — so you can find what info you need without losing another take.

Camera Firmware Update

Unlimited Updates

Firmware updates? No problem.

If a camera gets a firmware update, you can bet the pocket guide will get an update, too. From the moment you download them, you can choose to receive emails whenever a pocket guide has been changed so you always have the most up-to-date info.

Beyond the Camera Manual

Reliable and researched information.

Significant research went into making these pocket guides — often from multiple sources including manufacturer’s manuals, white papers, brochures, and third-party data. In many cases, the pocket guides themselves go beyond the basic information offered in the camera’s operation manual.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will the pocket guides work with (insert device here)?

Both the regular and mobile formatted pocket guides come as PDF (Portable Document Format) files. PDF files are extremely versatile and cross-platform. If your device doesn’t already read PDF files, there’s a good chance you can find an application that will enable it to.

2. Do you have a pocket guide for (insert camera here)?

All the pocket guides that are available are currently listed on this page. If you don’t see a camera listed you would like to have a pocket guide for, the feedback is welcome, but won’t guarantee a pocket guide gets made.

With that said, there is no reason to believe more pocket guides won’t be eventually added.

3. Can I print these off and give them away to people?

Yes! You are encouraged to print off copies to hand out to friends, family, and other crew – they’re also fun to slip inside camera cases when you return equipment :P

Just please don’t get carried away and hand out hundreds at a time to large groups. As a general guideline, if you don’t know all the names of people you’re giving pocket guides to, please ask for permission first.

4. Can I offer the pocket guides for download on my own website?

Unfortunately, no. While you are encouraged to hand out physical copies, I prefer to keep the digital distribution on my own website. That way I can keep bandwidth costs reasonable and also guarantee each person gets the latest and greatest version of the guide.

5. So how much money do they cost? What’s the price?

However much you can pay. All 25 of the pocket guides are yours to download under a “pay what you want” model. So technically they are still free if you want them to be, but I do appreciate any payment you can afford.

The suggested payment is $15.00 which breaks down to 60 cents per pocket guide.
